In The Shadows
Can I make a RTS in 14 days ? Well, probably not, but maybe I can make a RTS prototype and a simple-minded wave artificial interlligence.
It's a small prototype for a Reat Time Strategy genre game. You play as a wizard/alchemist and must defend against the evil force of shadow monsters with red eyes. The prototype has a basic win condition (destroy the "Shadow Grotto" that spawn enemies and a basic loss condition (lose every units).
Each building give you a certain amount of units for free, if they die they respawn after some seconds.
I hope you'll have fun ! (and I hope you don't fall in the one in fifty run bug where the pathfinding fail suddendly and I can't reproduce the bug)
This was made for the Pirate Game Jam 15 ( https://itch.io/jam/pirate ) and yes, you should be able to find my game design document for this project. (here it is again just in case : Game Design Document )
That said, time for rest, then time to see other entries !
ATTENTION : On Firefox Browsers, the online version plays in a new windows similar to a pop-up. (It's standard for itch game if they need the option "SharedArrayBuffer"... that godot 4+ games need)
Key features missing from initial objectives : Minimap doesn't work, You can't mine the crystal forest, only gather from mana nodes. There is a potion resource, but that was cut for time (wich make the alchemist theme way less obvious). There is no sound (Well, I have made a main theme background music but I think it's better with no sound than only a 50s loop)

Sorry getting this error, and I can't run :(
Could be a me issue, idk.
this is my browser:
I'm sorry you couldn't launch it :/
I did just tried on the same Chrome version as your own but I was able to launch it. This error is not unfamiliar, as this is the reason why itch io has an option when posting a game named "
SharedArrayBuffer
support — (Experimental) "... But the option is enable in my case.I however did found a message about that bug on the itch io dev forum . It may or not be related to your issue, but I do use Godot 4 as an engine and a lot of people finding my game seems to use the random submission page :
(They seem to advise to open the submission in an other tab with control-click ?) In last resort, you could try the direct embed itch dot io page of the game, but if it's still doesn't work... I don't know. This seems to be more a server/host website problem.
That worked! I gave it a try and it is a pretty cool game. Really hard but a lot of fun. Thanks for the fix suggestion!
Thank you very much for coming back and playing it ! I'm glad you had fun !(^w^) (and that the fix sugestion worked :) )
I honestly put some good time into this, SC2 was one of my games back in its day.
The art all fit together nicely, controls matched what I would expect from a RTS. Constant threat pushed the game forward. Over loved the experience.
Congrats on your submission.
Thank you very much ! I'm glad you liked it (^w^)
(And well, starcraft is defenitively on of my favorite game when it come to RTS)
